after TTC-ing for more than 6months in 2011, and the last cycle has been way delayed for no reasons...

well, guess it is time to pick up the courage to go through everything again.. popping of pills.. tracking using Ovulation Strips, preseed and lifting up of legs..

1st TTC cycle officially begins from 12 Jan..

1st cycle, Jan: EDD Oct 2012

2nd cycle, Feb: EDD Nov 2012

3rd cycle, Mar: EDD Dec 2012

4th cycle, Apr: EDD Jan 2013

mummy has prepared mee sua and egg for him.. 外婆 says if mummy start this practise then must keep up the practise every yr.. mummy has got no issue abt it.. cos mummy neber had such practise at home, but would definitely love to do so for bao bei..

my lil darling just recovered from a series of illnesses... the lil naughty baby has been putting everything into his mouth, n guess tat's how he caught the HFMD virus..

Being a SAHM for 1 week wasnt easy..
nice seeing how much Denson's progress are during the 1 week homestay but it was mentally taxing cos he has been so attention-seeking that he wail the moment he noes that i am going to leave his sight.. i even got his crying ringing in my ears even when he is sound asleep at nites..

He was simply amazing to pick up some skills within the week.. like using some support and was able to stand up.. mummy has always been wondering when u gonna crawl forward like the rest of the babies.. n finally mummy saw u doing so... mummy most impressed when u can push urself to sitting position... mummy loves to see u pull urself to stand when u pull mummy's tshirt..

must be pondering why mummy n daddy cling to their iphones so much that u oso want one?
saw mummy n daddy drinking from cup direct, u oso want...
love to taste the food mummy n daddy are having on the table??

Sorry folks, havent really been posting here, laziness is the call of the day, with the ease of facebook apps via iphone, updates via photos seem the easy way out and the "come take alook at how denson has grown!" call alot easier..

having said that, 9 months is a milestone for any baby and as belated this post is, denson deserves an update as much as the readers..

the saying goes, 7months -sit, 8months crawl, 9months-grow teeth.. well, denson has no problem sitting on his own now though we are still a little concern when he drops his head backwards sometimes without realising what

surface he is on.. as to the crawling, he has shown signs of trying to crawl onto daddy but on a whole, he hasn't started crawling.. on teeth, while he has shown signs like a need to chew.. we have yet to ready see histooth buds..

whatever the rest say, i would say that i'm not ready bothered by his progress, give the kid sometime, benchmarks are set at this age but every kid is different, as long as he is healthy and happy, we are quite happy as parents..

now denson has been quite a happy boy, managable, smiling quite abit that we sometimes get worried when he doesnt smile..

denson has also been more playful on the changing tray, prefering to "stand" instead of lying down or sitting down.. what a handful..hee

alright, 9 months is a milestone passed, now towards the big 10 it is.. grow baby grow!

Denson fell ill for e 1st time... sob sob..

he wailed n cry in the middle of e nite cos he cant sleep at all.. his airway was stuck by the phlegm n mucus.. my poor denson..

Time flies, Denson is coming to to 7 month old..

Lazy mummy did not update the blog anymore.. pix are always on Facebook instead of here.. mummy will try to update blog via iphone in future..

Tis month, Denson had his FIRST Chinese New Year, meeting alot of unfamiliar faces.. Denson put on his best behaviour, no rejecting of ppl, always having fun n smiling to everyone he see..

Denson is so clever, did a few 恭喜恭喜 on 初一...
Denson met daddy's side 叔公 and 姑婆...
Denson also met mummy’s side 姨婆 n 姑婆...
Denson met mummy’s former teacher on 初三… Mdm Loke praised Denson for putting up the best behavior.. Mummy is so proud of u, 宝贝...

It’s been a tiring week for my little 宝贝 too.. passing n passing n passing.. n after tat Denson got a red pimple on his left cheek..

Denson also celebrated his cousin Gareth 1yr old birthday.. another 5 more mths, Denson gonna have his very own party too...

Denson's 6mth milestone..

Denson has successfully flip when he was 5.5mth old..

smart boy.. denson can now flip flip n flip...

just before Denson 3rd jab for the 6-in-1 vaccination, smart little boi actually could support himself while sitting down...

my brave little precious wailed a little when the jab took place.. but after awhile he is back to normal.. standing at 65cm and weighing 8.1kg.. my little precious is officially 6mth old!!

a precious loss of a family member happened on the same day too.. Denson's great grandfather passed away on this memorable day..

we are glad that at least he had brot with him fond memories of his great grandson.. thought little precious doesnt know what has happened, but he was there to send his Zhor Gong last journey... sad that Zhor Gong will not be able to celebrate Denson's 1st CNY n his bday.. but Zhor Gong had once held u in his arms, n this will never be forgotten..

Denson started on the gluey cereal since 3weeks ago.. but developed a cough shortly, hence stop for a week for recovery b4 venturing for the full switch.. mummy realised she has no patience to spoon feed Denson w the gluey cereal, so most of the time Daddy has been doing the job.. bad mummy..

gonna finish the si shen powder soon.. mummy has bot the organic brown rice for .. mummy hope u can take it well..

Denson tried the yummy organic apple puffs too.. so yummy that Denson cry for more when mummy slow down...

mummy has been buying alot of things online again.. cham.. mummy gonna spend buying stuffs from online for denson.. mummy gonna go broke soon...

Denson 1st stormy journey home n coincidentally mummy prepared a hood romper for Denson.. Denson braved thru the windy road w mummy.. Denson loved the thunder, the lightning and the rain.. :( smiling and wriggling in happiness as mummy hugged him tightly under the little brolly..

Denson got his passport done on his 6mth old too! ready for collection, but mummy only had time to collect w Denson b4 the CNY's eve.. prelude of Denson's passport photo..

to mark the 5th mth milestones, little denson has been making great progress...

Little precious had his 2nd swim on Xmas day!! N he is enjoying so much.. pix to be updated soon~

on new year's day, daddy n mummy bot Apple puree for Denson.. tried out 2 tablespoon of apple puree, but dont seem little denson like it.. make a big mess out of it, gav mummy a 'want to vomit' face.. mummy tried the puree, a little sour taste..

but wen daddy fed denson the next day, he took it quite well, though still the "dont like it" look, he manage to finish all the 1 teaspoon of puree..

on sat, mummy and daddy has been encouraging little denson to flip from his side.. n little precious manage to flip w mummy's help.. fell back on his side, after struggling for awhile, he manage to flip back on his tummy again.. good job, darling..

n on his 5months 4days old, little denson quietly flip onto hjs tummy without help.. Daddy suddenly spotted him on his tummy and ask if mummy has helped him.. NO.. mummy didnt help... is all little denson's strength.. but poor baby, he used so much of strength on his arm till his arm looks abit bluish.. too heavy maybe.. haha.. is okie, denson.. mummy n daddy always here for u.. huggies~

seems like little denson can recognise his milk now.. whenever i show him his milk bottle, he will start to get v excited.. n whenever daddy or mummy try his milk he will scream.. n when the milk bottle is going into his mouth, he will happily open his mouth.. but he is v playful, wan to hold his bottle himself, yet wan to push the bottle out.. feeding time is always a drag..

bathing time is a drag too.. little denson oredi noe how to kick n splatter water in the bathtub.. n whenever he bathe, mummy or daddy seem to bathe w him too.. mummy bot little denson a rubber duckie to accompany him during his shower.. dont tink he like the rubber duckie yet, cos it seems like the rubber duckie fighting for space in the bathtub w him..

next milestone for daddy, mummy n denson is to bring little precious to the public pool for a dip..

n we r looking forward to the March Taiwan trip w Uncle Yoke, Auntie Jenn, Auntie Winnie n Uncle Alvin..

Been so long since Mummy blogged..

Mummy has been back at work for 4weeks.. but has been working 2-3days per week only cos Mummy has been busy running errands for the new hse and doing unpacking..

We have been staying in our hse for almost 1week.. feeling? felt as if we were stayin in a hotel, just that it is w/o room service..

so mummy got to constantly remind daddy to kip things back to its original position, otherwise mummy will have to kip doing the backlogs for daddy..

the hse is still in a mess, but mummy still v happy cos this little hut belongs to 3 of us..

Mummy's colleagues have always been wanting to play w denson.. so mummy brot Denson along for a steamboat session at Auntie LiLian's hse.. all the aunties are so excited and kip playing w Denson..

Denson did his first blessing mission on Auntie's LiLian's bed too.. Auntie LiLian says must roll but Denson cant even flip yet.. mummy ask Auntie Lilian, can mummy roll on Denson's behalf?? haha

Today, 16 Nov 2009, marks Denson's first day in school.. new aunties to take care of his needs, fellow babies around to laugh and cry together with him..

Daddy and Mummy hope that Denson can adapt quickly to the new environment, the trip to school will be a shorter one after we shift to Punggol.. till then, be good.

Denson is making remarkable progress...

though mummy haven seen u sittin w/o support but mummy n daddy noes that u are trying ler..

Denson, grow up strong n healthy so that u can adapt to school life easily k.. mummy n daddy looking forward to the 1st holiday w u too.. ur little playroom by mid dec and bunkin in w mummy n daddy on the big bed..

mummy got so worried abt u when u start to refuse milk.. from the 5feedings a day drop to 4feedings and sometimes u dont even finish everything.. mummy got so worried, thank goodness this is only a passing phase.. to all future mummies n daddies, this is normal.. some babies will go on milk strike during 3mths-4.5mths.. our dear denson only lasted his strike for less than 10days.. he is takin milk again.. tink on growing spurt liao..

During this milk strike days, mummy tried so many 'patterns' w denson.. changed place for feedings dun help.. once sat down, placed on hanky, knew tat it is milk time, start wailing liao.. so smart.. mummy so happy cos it show how smart little denson is.. so mummy tried more patterns.. let denson lie on mummy's thigh to drink milk.. so is denson dont wan mummy to be too tired by carrying him for 15mins while drinkin.. how sweet this little boi is..

startin to like to sit up ler.. mummy oso realise how much denson likes to watch e TV just like daddy.. denson likes news reporting.. grandma says cos lil denson likes someone to tok to him.. haha.. but denson oredi like news since in tummy.. daddy says no more than 30mins of tv watchin a day~ ok, daddy~

daddy n mummy oso noticed denson's interest in holding his own bottle.. several times, he will push daddy's hands away but he cant control his own hand yet so daddy still got to hold for u.. mummy on the other hand train denson by lettin him hold mummy's thumb n little finger just like holdin the training cup.. then one day, daddy captured a pix of denson holdin his own bottle for secs.. how can mummy n daddy not love this little cutie..

mummy see how much u like attention too.. always screaming to catch mummy's attention.. ur lovely voice n laughter that mummy n daddy loves to hear everyday.. lil talkative, ee ee orr orr everyday.. mummy n daddy just love the way u try to make conversation w us..

Denson has lots of friends now.. Dumpty, Ducky n Dino..

Dino is Denson's best friend.. mummy n daddy bot this for u since u smiled so happily when daddy show it to u at Robinsons.. n seem like Dino is still able to make Denson happy everyday.. Dino is Denson's 1st self-chosen toy.. so proud of Denson cos u can make decision like mummy n daddy ler..

mummy just had her birthday w denson n daddy ytd.. though it is mummy's first bday w denson, but she felt it that this day should be spent w grandma more than anyone else.. it meant to be a special day for mummy n grandma..

after mummy giv birth to denson, mummy realised how hard it is for grandma 26yrs ago.. mummy hopes that she can spend her next birthday w grandma to tell her thank you for bringing mummy into this world on 3rd nov 1983..

mummy hopes denson can learn this too.. birthday though is a day u are showered w gifts fr others to wish u n give u blessings, it is oso a day mummy had gone through so much to bring u into this world..

Denson has been growing well till few weeks ago, he seem to have slim down abit.. is all mummy's faults.. Denson was once on 140ml till he kip puking after every feed.. so mummy tot maybe daddy n mummy has overfed him so we reduce to 130ml.. he is taking so well that we tot tat's the right formula.. after weeks later, mummy still dare not give more till lots of aunties saying their babies drinkin way more than Denson.. mummy got abit worried but for 2months n above, the guideline is 120ml-160ml.. so mummy tot maybe Denson just on the lower side..

on the other hand, mummy n daddy noticed Denson is always not full after feeding.. but he wun cry for more, he only stick out his tongue in n out.. after daddy came back from Uncle Billy's wedding, Uncle eugene's son whom is almost 2 weeks younger than Denson is oredi drinkin 160ml.. so mummy n daddy decided to increase Denson's feeding again.. from last sun till now, denson has been taking 150ml-160ml consistently..

sad to say, bcos of mummy's worry tat Denson has been puking too much after feed, n the under-feeding has caused Denson to lose 200g over 10days.. instead of putting, he lost weight.. mummy is so sad... Denson's michelin arms is oso significantly slimmer than before..

but Denson has been a good boi.. Denson dont fuss even he didnt get enuff milk.. he went along w mummy n daddy as long as mummy n daddy feeds him.. poor baby~

few days ago, mummy suddenly noticed Denson grew a small mole on his right cheek near the dimple area.. oh it looks simply cute.. adds alittle feature to the little chubby face.. grandma says is okie for a boi boi.. it didnt bother mummy actually, in fact mummy loves the mole.. she always tink it is so adorable to have mole on the face but not too many..

finally mummy n daddy collected the pressie for Denson.. for the nice soft hair denson has shaved off, mummy n daddy made into this meaningful pressie for Denson.. calligraphy brush and w Denson’s umbilical stump, mummy and daddy make it into a seal for him.. wen we move into our new home, Daddy n mummy will take it out to display.. explain to denson wat is it for…

Ohhs.. as mummy typing right now, Denson is moving his arms n legs looking at the bright window.. wen mummy looks at Denson, denson gave a smile and immediately melts mummy’s heart~ ahhhhzzz~~

mummy has been busy taking a good look at Denson everyday that she has no time to blog about Denson's growing up.. haha.. mummy scare that she will forget the days how Denson looks like when she is looking after him.. so everyday even though Denson is cranky, mummy will be very patient to coax him and pacify him..

Mummy is more able to comprehen wat Denson wants thru his actions and cries..

The first few weeks when Mummy was looking after Denson on her own, she is so stressed up cos everyone thinks that Mummy cant do a good job and everyone wants to poke their nose in.. living everyday on a 3hr window isnt fun.. is a challenge to get things done within the 3hrs when many people like to peep into our room to see how Denson is.. Mummy got abit paranoid by these actions.. even till now...

at first, mummy can only feed Denson whenever he cries.. when time is not up, n Denson is crying mummy gets fedup.. Once, Denson cry so much that Mummy cant calm him down.. once mummy put him down, he start cryin again.. mummy got so fedup that mummy shouted at Denson. mummy noes Denson wun understand abit but mummy needs to let out.. mummy gav a slap on Denson's cheeks but felt so guilty after tat.. poor bao bei~

from then on, mummy told herself she needs to hav patience for Denson.. Denson duno anything he can only cry.. he needs lots of caring and love to grow up properly.. since then, Denson is the TOP priority on mummy's mind.. Denson comes FIRST regardless of anything..

mummy always hear the old folks say dun carry baby too much when he is young otherwise he will wan to carry every now n then.. i must say THIS IS VERY WRONG!!! mummy heed their advise and went into the super wrong path.. which ended mummy gav Denson the slap on e cheeks... now no matter wat mummy is doin, if denson wails, mummy will coax him and pick him up for a good comfort hug till he settles down.. n he is so much more cooperative w mummy now.. he enjoys hearing mummy's pumping session cos he noes that wen he got milk to drink.. he no longer fuss when he cant see mummy cos he noes mummy must b busy w something otherwise she will be beside him taking an extra look at him..

a great learning journey w Denson through these mths n days.. on 16 nov, Denson will be going school.. mummy bot Denson a school bag.. hope that Denson will be able to take the change well...

Dear Denson,

Though you might not really understand this now, but Daddy and Mummy will be bringing you to Toa Payoh HDB Hub on 20.10.2009 to collect the keys to the brand new home that Daddy and Mummy is having for the 3 of us.

You will have your own room, but you are welcomed to sleep with us and you slowly but surely learn to become an independent boy.

You will have friends to play with next door as Joshua and Janelle share the same floor with us.

We will travel to IKEA to look at beautiful furniture and fittings and Daddy will always buy something and we will be having meals at the IKEA restaurant where Mummy will enjoy her chicken wings while Daddy will enjoy the swedish meatballs and the chicken wings!

We will travel to look at the sunset in Punggol end, we will fly kits in the open grass fields.. we will have uncles and aunties, friends of Daddy and Mummy moving into Punggol at different stages of your life.

By end 2009. We have our own home.

finally mummy got the time n strength to post something online again..

mummy has been taking care of Denson in the day alone for almost 3 weeks.. surviving well a

s Denson has put on substantial weight under mummy's care.. Daddy has also been on night shift for almost 3 weeks.. Daddy needs a good nite sleep..

almost 2 months, but the family still dont seems to understand that there is a baby at home.. talk as if shouting, slam the door cos their hands are always butter fingers, flip flop slippers along the corridor to tell the whole wide world that they are home.. at least Denson need not noe all these, pls...

1 toilet available for bathin n 7 person queuin for it everytime.. though Denson gets e priority in e mornin, but tat means someone queuin behind us n mummy got to hurry n hurry..

for so many days, mummy has been dunkin instant noo

dles for lunch.. simply bcos no time for lunch.. some ppl dont understand when there is a baby there is no schedule of my own, baby is everything... mummy can go hungry but not baby...

mummy has been interruptin daddy's work everyday w some new complaints.. but mummy really dont feel this is a conducive place to raise a kid..

Mummy hopes the keys to our new place can be faster.. should be collecting the keys within the next 2weeks.. but mummy hopes it can be even faster than that..

mummy see Denson growing day by day.. from a thinly light color eye brow to a significantly visible brow.. from the small little baby in hospital till today chubby boiboi.. recently daddy n mummy noticed Denson's chubby cheeks got alittle smaller.. he is drinking well, puttin on weight as usual, hopefully he is growing well..

nowadays daddy n mummy like to take pix of Denson during bath and after bath.

According to chinese beliefs, the hair that an infant bears at time of birth is also know as "tai mao" or fetal hair.. this hair began growing while the baby is in the womb and thus it would be a practice to shave the hair completely when the child is 1 month old.. this signifies a new and bright begining for the baby..

So in modern times, medically there is no ills of allowing the baby to keep their hair while some would argue that it is "cleaner" to remove the baby's hair at the 1 month interval..

Parents have the options of what they want to do with their children's hair and one of the more popular options now includes using the hair to make a calligraphy brush.. this brush will not be used but instead acts as a momento of the child's journey from womb to world..

On Sunday 31 Aug, daddy and mummy made an appointment for denson's hair to be shaved and made into a calligraphy brush.. more on that when the brush is ready in about 4-5weeks time!

Hi everyone!

It's September! Denson has grown well over the last few weeks and its getting more and more of a workout carrying him for extended hours. Nonetheless, daddy and mummy are happy that he is growing strong, being healthy and fit will do him well for the "you-know" in March 2010.

Now now, if you are expecting Botak pictures of Denson, i'm sorry to disappoint. Denson's shots in August, with hair, taken in the month of august =)

Dear Uncles and Aunties,

My darling boy, Denson Ho, is 1 month old today! Accordingly to the Lunar Calendar, he was 1 month old 2 days ago, so go figure!

Anyways, the confinement lady is gone, which means that its all us from now onwards till we decide where denson goes when mummy starts working again in December 2009.. anyone with suitable contacts for nannies (7am-7pm neg kind) or infant care, do let us know, you should have our numbers, if you don't, then perhaps this blog wasn't even meant for you..haha

as you can see, the lack of sleep is affecting the usual flow of content on this page.. Spending much of the day's 24hours trying to pacify a baby, keeping an alert ear for cries, constant cleaning, boiling of hot water, warming and storing milk, has more or less taken its toil.. but every minute and every last ounce of strength left is worth it, because we were part of denson's growing up phase where we have cared for him to the best of our abilities.

Mummy has started bathing denson while daddy is still kept in the observer mode. Daddy needs to do more, can't wait for the weekends to come again.. maybe i should start taking more leave to spend more time with mother and child..

Denson also had his hair cut today, so for those of you who had seen him in recent days, you got to imagine him with not much hair, we took them all off his head for a good reason, that reason is best explained in pictures so lets wait for that..

Meanwhile, mummy should and would be too busy to post pictures update of denson(esp with his new hairstyle, or lack of it).. so hang in tight, daddy will update when we have periods of peace like now.. time to do another power-nap before the bio-alarm for milk sounds off around 12.30am.

Mummy is getting abit disappointed in breastfeeding ler..

after so long, mummy finally convinced Auntie to let Mummy breastfeed Denson directly..

was Mummy's lunchtime, it is oso Denson's feeding time.. but Auntie wan mummy to finish lunch first..

stupid Auntie to make Denson so hungry, she tinks that when he is hungry he can suckle better?? he will be more impatient..

btw auntie duno football hold.. she say she fight w her kids when it comes to breastfeedin on the right side..

when mummy latch Denson on, he suckle abit n feel asleep.. mummy could get him to open his mouth at all.. so after tryin to force open his mouth for 10min, mummy gav up..

Auntie took Denson away to sleep on his rocker.. Auntie say breastfeed oso nd to burp.. but antenatal class say NO NEED.. Auntie say Denson puke milk cos i didnt burp him.. less than 20mins, Denson crying for milk ler.. Mummy try to latch Denson on, less than 5mins, he is off aslp again.. tis time round, mummy got to force open his mouth again.. so bad that he got frustrated w mummy n start wailing loudly.. he is hungry but he is angry w mummy at the same time.. whenever mummy position him for feeding he will cry very very loudly.. mummy no choice but got to carry him n comfort him n immediately he is okie.. mummy tried so many times till mummy gav up n ask Auntie to warm up the milk..

haiz.. mummy will try again w daddy's help tonite..

only less than 3 weeks n Denson got the nipple confusion syndrome.. lucky the weekend is coming, Daddy can be ard to help out.. rather than the auntie stand there n just kip forcing Denson's mouth to Mummy's breast.. *ANGRY*

Denson's 3 week old...

Denson is 3 weeks old.. n today is supposed to be his EDD too.. playful him to play w the umbilical cord, otherwise he need not be induced so early..

life was initially a breeze w him around.. someone to cook and wash for us.. but it turn out to b a nitemare when she is so insistent on her ways..
managed to show her our unhappiness, somehow she is abit more relax on us now..

but ytd she just gav mummy n daddy a shock.. she asked mummy where are the bird's nest, so mummy showed her.. she told mummy that she will cook SOME for denson w some pao sheng cos Denson is having some heat rash so she wan to give something to cool him down.. she said SOME, but she soaked ALL the bird's nest mummy has, which is like 4pcs mummy left w.. Daddy bot it for mummy when she is pregnant.. mummy tot of slowly taking it since she has neber took it b4 she was preggy.. but the AUNTIE juz soak everything like tat.. after mummy told daddy abt it, daddy say dont give Denson the bird's nest so early first.. too much protein, Denson might not be able to take it, worse it might cause allergy.. so mummy went to tell auntie abt it.. surprisingly, she wasnt agressive abt it, n say up to u all loh.. i guess she oso felt abit too much to finish all the bird's nest like that..
next sun will be auntie's last day here... daddy can finally hav his bed back.. poor daddy has been struggling w the sofa the last 3 weeks.. daddy, hang on there..

Denson has been growing well.. did mummy mentioned the last we went for the follow up check at Dr Terence's clinic when baby is 1 week old, baby has oredi put on weight after the initial loss..

At birth: 2.590kg
3rd day: 2.395kg
7th day: 2.7kg

3rd week: 3.8kg

Thanks to Uncle Jake, otherwise mummy wun hav an idea of how to weigh Denson at home.. haha..

Mummy could tell Denson has been putting on weight when she carrys him.. his little cheeks has grew chubby too..

Rants Update

Sorry if this is turning into a rant page.. bear with daddy for this few days alright..

basically daddy and mummy had more or less decided to speak to the auntie and ask her to leave.. but somehow, daddy and mummy just didn't do it and we will also mindful that an extra pair of hands at home was important..

daddy was more firm towards the auntie today, one incident that daddy was most aggressive was when the auntie force-feed denson when denson was crying.. daddy even saw the auntie shaking her legs resulting in denson being held with a jerking motion while the milk bottle was stuffed in denson's mouth while he was wailing..

daddy couldn't take it and snatch denson away from the auntie.. the express breastmilk was far to warm for denson to consume and thus he cried and the auntie instead that the milk was not too warm and daddy told the auntie off..

mummy was commenting also on how the auntie toned down abit after daddy showed her some colours..

now i guess daddy needs to continue playing the role of the baddie so that denson can get the best treatment from the auntie..

we are putting up with her for abit longer and let's see what happens as we go along..

One thing's for sure, daddy and mummy was always act in the best interest of denson, parental instincts in action, watch out baddies!

Dad's rants

Daddy is going to rant about the confinement lady..

Let's start with the good things.. she knows what's she's doing, isn't afraid to insist on what she feels is right, take controls of things and seriously has helped to improve the kitchen area and its cleanliness since the day she arrived... she's quite skillful with denson and is able to provide her inputs on matters apart from denson's welfare, commenting on mummy's confinement schedule, bathing schedule etc..

now the rants..

knowing what she is doing also meant that there seem to be little or no room for any negotiation.. no latch on for baby.. don't talk to him at night after certain hours, don't carry denson too much so that he doesn't get too used to immediate comfort.. so much more..

i guess at the end of the day she met well.. but what irritates daddy sometimes is how she makes it seem that it is daddy's fault that denson is crying instead of sleeping soundly.. denson cries, daddy and mummy try and comfort him, after awhile, he doesn't show any sign of settling down.. daddy suspects diaper change is due so picked denson up from the playpen onto the diaper changing mat to do a quick check.. auntie comes in and speak in such a way that daddy shouldn't have picked denson up and that denson is crying because he is trying to get some sleep..

so it's daddy's fault now uh?

mummy finished her longan drink tonight and auntie told mummy that she will brew for her again tomorrow.. so mummy got no longan drink when she wakes up twice at night?

Daddy is brewing longan drink for mummy but auntie was like so shocked to see the pot boiling.. if she cannot prepare enough for mummy, daddy will do it.. she still have the cheek to tell daddy that she has already told mummy that no more for tonight..

Daddy is keeping in all in and remaining cordial

Daddy (and mummy) is putting up with auntie for denson's sake.. daddy isn't at home during weekdays so daddy is well aware how much of a help the auntie is in taking care of denson, cooking for mummy etc..

Another 2 weeks plus before she goes.. on one hand, we can finally do things our way, using our parental instincts and knowledge from the books and antenatal class to good use.. on the other hand.. mummy will have to bear the full responsbility of looking after denson with little or no help and food quality is going to drop too..

sometimes daddy hope he can afford 2 months of no-pay to be with mummy and denson through this 2 months, but daddy needs to work to bring home the moolah

Daddy hasn't blogged much, mummy has been doing most of the updates..

let daddy trace back to the hours before denson was born then:

2350 - Gynae did a check on mummy and it confirmed what daddy thought.. c-section was necessary.. there was some quick talk about going for epidural c-section so that mummy will know what's going on and hopefully daddy can be inside the operating theatre (OT) as well.. nurses came in and began preparing mummy for the procedure.. daddy was rushed to pick up the bags and get ready to move off..

2355 - daddy felt that the atmosphere was being made tense.. yes, its was considererd an emergency c-section but it was more like urgent than actually emergency.. but the nurses just made the whole situation seem so hectic.. as daddy followed mummy out of the Operating Theatre, Gynae was nowhere to be seen, just 2 nurses escorting mummy on the OT bed and another directing daddy to wait outside the WARD. WARD?! daddy wanted to be with there and mummy.. mummy was whisked off into the lift and daddy didn't even have a chance to say anything to mummy!

0000 - daddy told nurse that daddy wanted to be inside the OT but nurse informed that Dr gave no instructions, daddy had to asked nurse to help daddy ask Dr if daddy could get in.. daddy really wanted to be there to see denson's first moments and more importantly, to provide suppport for mummy after all the things that mummy had to go through before we head to the OT.. but the nurse just told daddy.. "i will ask doctor, if ok, i will come out and bring you in, if not, the next time you see me is when i bring your baby out liao".. daddy was left alone at the lift lobby just outside the Operating area.. no clue where he was, no clue where mummy and baby is doing, no clue if daddy will be able to get it.. all sort of thoughts ran through daddy's mind.. worrying about mummy, worrying about denson..

0015 - still no word, still no sight.. daddy getting edgy.. very worried, abit angry at how all this went and how he was not around mummy, letting mummy go through the c-section alone.. is mummy ok? is denson ok? how long will this take?

0025 - daddy quite certain that daddy wouldn't get to go in.. every sound and every moment in the quite lift lobby area alerted daddy.. daddy stood outside the door area which led to another 3 doors and 1 corridor.. 1 of the door stated Operating Theatres.. daddy didn't even know which one.. silence accompanies daddy.. only the constant click of the analog clock kept daddy aware of each passing second...

0035 - still no word.. daddy gets more worried by the minute.. why is this taking so long? will daddy get to hear denson cry from the outside? what happens if daddy goes pass beyond the line and ventures into restricted zone? is the security camera on top of the entrance working? will someone stop daddy? daddy walks away from the door entrance and sits down for a rest, tired from the wait and anxiety..

0035-0045 Daddy was alerted by a sound and rushed to the door entrance.. the nurse that last spoke to daddy finally appeared after so long, daddy had no sense of time except to ask the nurse if both mother and son are alright.. daddy was relieved when he say denson and was informed by nurse that denson was fine.. a quick check by daddy on denson and we quickly proceed down to the maternity ward

0048 - Daddy is down with nurse at the maternity ward, denson is put on the weighin scale and records 2.59kg.. daddy and nurse check through denson's fingers and genitals.. denson is wrapped up and placed under the warmer.. nurse informs daddy of denson's birth time and that mummy underwent GA

0110 - Daddy informed that mummy will be kept under observation before sending her down.. daddy can place the bags in the ward but must come out immediately since there's another lady in the ward.. daddy and mummy wanted single-bedded ward but there weren't any left when denson was born.. had to make do with 2-bedded ward..

0120 - Daddy spoke with neighbouring lady to apologies for the inconvenience and that daddy is waiting for mummy to be back from OT.. daddy went outside to sit at the couch in the corridor to wait for mummy to come down..

Not sure what time - Daddy was very tired yet very worried about mummy.. nurses in nursery informed daddy that he cannot keep going into the nursery at such late hour.. daddy saw mummy coming out from the lift while standing outside nursery.. nurses settled mummy down

Ard 0200 - Daddy tried talking to mummy but mummy was groggy... daddy felt so worried and sad to see mummy was groggy but was also relieved that mummy is fine now.. daddy tried to speak to mummy to check with her if she can hear him.. mummy could only nod and shake head to answer.. daddy know that it will take some time before mummy gets more awake..

0230-0300 - Daddy took his supper and breakfast of milo and milo outside the delivery suite and say hi to the nurses.. daddy headed back to the maternity ward and made another attempt to sneak into the nursery to take another look at denson.. nurses were uneasy but let daddy have his way..

0300-0320 - Daddy spoke to mummy and mummy could finally answer.. daddy showed mummy some pictures of denson on the camera and assured mummy that denson is okie.. daddy was relieved that mummy could open her eyes and speak coherently.. daddy told mum to rest and that he will be back in the early morning as he was not allowed to stay.. nurses had reminded daddy at least 4 times that he cannot stay over by now..

0335 - Daddy took one last look at denson (again irritating the nurses) before leaving.. denson took cab to grandma's workplace to update her on what happened and show her denson's pictures..

0350 - Daddy headed home for a quick shower and nap after being at the hospital for some 27hours..

0700 - Daddy is back at the hospital and saying hi to the same nurses that he saw some 4hours ago.. mummy is resting well and denson already looks slightly different from the earlier pictures..

The rest, they say, is history..

Happy Birthday, 外婆！！

Baby Denson,

Today is 外婆 birthday.. We wun be able to visit 外婆 to wish her happy birthday this yr, but next yr we will b able to k.. by next yr, hopefully u can utter a few words n wish 外婆 Happy Birthday..

Just now mummy n confinement auntie brot u out for blood test again.. this time not so pain pain ler hor.. mummy got scold the auntie just now for puncturing baby's little foot so deep previously.. baby was still bleedin after auntie took out the bandage for u.. this time, the auntie is more gentle, baby oso didnt cry so much.. baby is a brave boi.. wail alittle then stop ler.. good boi..

On the way to the hospital, confinement auntie commented Baby Denson is growing to look like mummy more now.. the nose, the chin n the facial features.. height seems like daddy, tall tall.. she oso say baby got abit of ger ger look, baby's next sibling most prob a sister.. haha.. mummy wish that is true..

Auntie say she saw baby denson got a dimple on the left side.. haven seen the right side one.. yippee... Table for 3 all got dimples..

We are a family of dimples.. haha..

erm after born for 10days..

partly mummy's fault cos mummy wanted grandma to take a look at the chinese name.. but grandma has been ill these few days, didnt manage to come n visit Denson, in the end only confirm the name over the phone w grandma..

Daddy n mummy was rushing in the morning to fill up all the forms, while daddy had to speed to ICA for the registration b4 12noon...

anyway Denson is officially registered w the ICA today..

Wonderful milestone as Denson is 1 week old today...

This whole week we have been learning w him.. his feeding volume n schedule, identifying diaper rash, heat rash, guage the jaundice level as well as slowly learning how to bathe n clean him..

very bad parents.. we haven tried our hands on bathing him.. well, guess the confinement lady feels tat it is her job to take care of the baby so we were pretty left out in all these processes... sometimes mummy dun even noe how much baby has drank his milk, wat time he drank.. worst of all, dun even noe if he has poo poo..

Mummy n daddy brot little Denson to Dr Terence for followup today.. poor Denson had to do a blood test for his jaundice level.. the nurse prick so deep into his skin that till afternoon he is still bleeding.. cry so badly, yet mummy n daddy duno wat's happening..

Dr Terence commenting Denson's doing well.. Jaundice level at border line.. so got to go for a second blood test next tue.. hopefully Denson's jaundice has come to a peak.. Denson has always been a sensible boi, trying his best to make sure that daddy n mummy nd not worry abt him too much..

Little Denson has put on weight too.. tat's the best relief for Daddy n Mummy!! Mummy tot she could have been starving him during the first 2 days at home.. he seems to slim down abit oso.. Great that Denson 很有志气, neber let Daddy n Mummy worry so much..

Mummy has since been pumping milk out for Denson's feeding.. so much of antenatal class, toking about directly latchin baby on to bond w baby, increase the milk supply as much as baby demand.. but Confinement Auntie is so against the idea cos she wun be able to guage baby's intake, insist that Mummy has to pump out.. Mummy n daddy spoke to Auntie few days ago, but she is against the idea.. tot in the end, we manage to convince her, but today wen we came back from hospital, Denson is hungry so mummy tot good time to latch him on for just 5-10mins...

Denson is doing so fine.. Auntie kip sayin mummy gonna hav a hard time latchin baby, might even end up fightin w him.. but it turn out otherwise... duno what's wrong w Auntie.. haiz...

hopefully mummy still in time to change Denson to latch on after Auntie leaves...

Birth Story of Baby Denson..

Mummy has not blog about Baby Denson ever since he is in our arms..

Mummy was admitted to Mount Alvernia to induce Baby Denson at 0000hr on 29 Jul 09.
Mummy and daddy tot that Baby Denson will be at least out by the next 24hrs.. but he only arrive on 0033hr on 30 Jul 09..

Many will ask wat is induced labour.. it is manually initiating the labour by inserting pill to the mum's body for softening of the cervix and dilation..

Below is an express summary of what mummy, daddy n denson went thru:

0045 inserted pill to soften cervix
1000 gynae came to check, cervix still hard n intact.. (Vaginal Examination (VE) is so painful) inserted another pill advise mi to walk ard after lunch..

1505 gynae check, dilated for 2cm only.. (i swear the VE is a damn horrible experience) and she broke the waterbag subsequently.. Contractions started not long after..

1548 Opt for epidural.. (mummy only endured the pain for 20mins n surrendered.. mainly due to the VE that the gynae did... mummy was oredi tearing non-stop by then...)

1800 Gynae did VE again.. 3cm dilated only (this time round no more pain cos lower body is numb.. my right leg feel more numb than the left one.. most of the time, i need help from ppl to move my leg...) gynae mentioned she will come back later to check on mi again..

2230 Gynae came to check again.. still 3cm dilated.. mummy immediately knew c-sect was the last resort.. (mummy was tearing non-stop cos mummy didnt wan to go thru ops after such a long tedious journey ler.. mummy wan to see baby when he is out) so mummy requested gynae to give mummy an hr time to see if baby cooperate.. (mummy was tokin to baby, but mummy was tinkin it is mummy's body nt baby's fault.. was in a loss, duno what can mummy do to deliver baby naturally..)

2350 Gynae did a check again.. still 3cm dilated... so c-sect was the last resort since the main reason for induced was bcos bb's cord spotted in dangerous situation.. once mummy agreed for the operation, all the auntie nurses came to move mummy to the operating theatre, get mummy to sign consent form.. mummy didnt get a chance to tok to daddy n was been push away.. poor daddy was in a loss too.. he dreaded so much abt cutting baby's umbilical cord, witnessing baby's birth, but now he dun even noe if he is allowed in the theatre...

2355 Prepared n push into operating theatre.. Daddy wasnt allow in the OT cos no time to orientate him for the OT procedure..

0005 Increased dosage for epidural but b4 the epidural take effect, gynae CUT mi.. haha.. tearing again.. so gynae suggest full GA.. was totally knocked off after 3 breathes on the gas mask..

Duno wat time mummy was out... but bb was out at 0033hr..

daddy took care of the rest of the things until mummy was awake in the morning... daddy tried tokin to mummy while mummy is still groggy.. mummy could only nod n shake her head to answer daddy, making daddy so worried..

according to daddy:
- bb Denson had his cord 2rounds around his neck.. thank goodness we had the c-sect in time..
- bb Denson did tried his best to push himself out thru the 3cm dilation to save mummy's fr the pain (guess Denson noe how much daddy n mummy have been waiting for his arrival and the pain mummy has went thru ler..) Denson had a small pointed area on his head which was caused by himself pushin thru.. how could anyone else melt mummy's heart when mummy learnt about this..

Denson simply an adorable n sensible boi..

After the whole episode, mummy wonder if there will be a sibling for Denson.. but come again, the next time round, mummy has nd to opt for c-sect directly, so that everything can be more under control...

Overall, daddy, mummy and denson spent 4 days in Mount Alvernia Hospital from 29 Jul 0010hrs to around 1 Aug 1330hrs... Daddy is quite satisfied with the service from the nurses at Mount Alvernia, the team at Our Lady's Ward did an excellent job looking after mummy and denson though they had to chase daddy back for 3 consecutive nights.. this year, Mount Alvernia & Wyneth is also giving newborns a gold-plated coin

it was a long journey that finally brought denson home safely and denson will now have to adapt to his new living environment along with inexperienced daddy and mummy and also over-zealous grandparents..

Dear Uncles & Aunties,

While i'm only about 2.5 days old, i have received alot of presents from everyone! Daddy and Mummy asked me to say a big THANK YOU for all your presents to mummy and me..

I was discharged from the hospital this afternoon and getting used to life at home.. Mummy is doing her confinement during this period while i learn to be a good boy and grow up faster so that i can meet all of you soon!

Daddy say i cannot use the computer for too long since its bad for my eyes.. so i'll end here with another thank you!

Hospital Update II

Writing in a delivery suite while waiting for your wife to dilate fully can be quite a unique experience.. most would feel that a once in a lifetime experience when the more fortunate can have it 2 to 3 times in their life..

Each of us had undergone, in our own little ways, this phase before we eventually get to the point where you get to read what i'm writing about here.. yet, many of us seem to know little about the stages of labour or to a greater extend, the specific details on fertility or the human body..

We have spent over 20 hours in the same room, with bulk of the morning and noon spent on inducing labour when we are perhaps about halfway through the actual birth process now.. fatigue is definitely setting in and we can't wait to spread the good news out to the folks out there waiting for a piece of the "action" in the delivery room..

The initial estimations of a late morning/noon birth didn't realise and a late evening delivery looks more likely now.

Contractions are getting strong, so that's a good sign..

Not sure why the picture posting buttons and everything else seem to be missing from the posting page..

Anyways, some of you peeps would have found out that we are entering Mt Alvernia late tonight to begin induce labour.. Baby Denson's umbilical cord was seen too near his neck for comfort, hence, at the advice of the gynae, we have decided that inducing labour in the earliest possible period would do more good..

As it is.. Denson's EDD of 20.08.2009 will be brought forward to 29.07.2009.

For now, we are frantically getting the house ready for denson and preparing all our stuff for admission, at least i won't need to rush from work/academy and go through the anxiety of water-breaking, timing contractions etc.. there's a silver lining afterall..

Just hope that Denson & Mummy will both be safe and sound..

Baby is gaining good weight.. mummy gaining some too.. :(

Baby weighing 2.1kg now.. Uncle Jake say anything more than 2kg consider safe and good to survive ler.. mummy so happy hearing that..

On the way to Dr Michele's clinic, baby so excited.. move n move n move.. mummy couldnt settle baby at all.. Baby always move when he is hungry.. so daddy tot bring baby for a mcdonald's meal b4 the scan scan.. but Daddy was tinkin we shld starve baby so that we can see him in action during the scan.. mummy dont bear to see baby hungry so we still go ahead w McDonald's meal.. indeed after the food, baby stop moving ler.. baby must be busy absorbing the nuggets n french fries.. haha..

during the scan, daddy n mummy only saw baby move his hand alittle.. baby too big for the screen, can only see part of him each time.. Daddy requested a pix from Dr Michele so that we can do a little tracker montage on baby's growth.. Dr Michele says as baby grow bigger, his skin gets thicker so the ultrasound cant pick up the scan so clearly as before ler... still, Dr Michele help daddy finds a nice posture of baby and printed for daddy n mummy's momento.

dont think baby will be a big sized baby, looking at Denson's growth rate these 3weeks, actually Denson's growth has slowed down... 400grams for 3 weeks abit little.. mayb bcos mummy didnt take durians... haha.. During the scan, mummy saw the est EDD based on Denson's size now, it is in sept.. much later in sept compared to te previous scanning.. hopefully baby can catch up.. Mummy n daddy cant wait to have you in our arms...

Daddy got a yaolan set and baby playpen from Auntie Evon some weeks back.. wasnt able to post the pix online yet cos the internet access at home is not stable.. *mummy n daddy tapping on other people's access cos our router is down..*

Mummy n daddy bot more stuffs for u too.. no time to post online ler.. mummy need to step up on washing ur clothes b4 ur arrival otherwise baby gonna go naked..

from now till then.. 5weeks 1day to Denson's arrival...

Mummy has not been updating the blog recently.. has been busy at work.. settling mummy's work cos last week, mummy's coy just had an event at Suntec City.. w a big bump, mummy had to prepare the logistics for mummy's area of work.. mummy had to do duty oso.. on site for the whole of friday at suntec city.. everyone is concerned of baby n mummy, kip askin mummy to sit down n rest, but part of mummy's duty is to make sure everything is in order.. so mummy managed to endure for 11hrs at suntec city.. it was a long long day...

daddy came to fetch mummy at the end of the day.. daddy had a long long day too.. he had to finish work as much as possible cos daddy going to reservist after next week..

Next time Denson has to serve the country and do reservist too..

Mummy was browsing thru the forum today and suddenly she got this interest to take maternity photoshoot.. hmm.. mummy used to worry abot the ugly stretchmarks, the breakouts and the out of shape body.. but 1 auntie's post online make mummy changed her mind.. she said "it is part n parcel of the pregnancy journey, next time she can show her baby how mummy has gone thru to carry him thru the 40weeks and the sacrifices she made for the little joy"

mummy had this blog partly to show Denson how much mummy has gone thru during this 40weeks and beyond, so mummy was abit tempted to go for the photoshoot..

mummy used to say she want to take personal makeover when she was young.. now no longer young the portfolio is nowhere in sight.. so mummy tot it is going to be just this one n only time that mummy carrys Denson.. so mummy have to make the decision quick whether to take the pix ornt..

mummy nd to dig dig the cupboard for some nice clothes to take cos need to bring own clothes... Daddy is generally agreeable to the photoshoot ler.. Daddy will b part of the photoshoot too.. let mummy find some nice clothes b4 she decide on the date for phototaking..

past 2 weekends, mummy n daddy went for the antenatal classes... They brot us to view the delivery suite too.. Frankly speaking, mummy freak out a little when she was at the delivery suite.. there is the operating theatre lights, the delivery bed, the laughing gas thingy and all the gloves and operation apparatus.. mummy has always been brave to keep thinkin she will only worry and b scare on the day she has to pop.. but the trip to the delivery suite freaked her out.. roughly 5 weeks from now, and mummy gonna pop ler.. still got 3 more weeks to rest.. which means 2 weeks to wash baby's clothes and stuffs to prepare for baby's arrival...

My dear little denson...

These few nites u haven been sleepin much.. mummy's tummy got not space left for u to move about ler... mummy turn left, u lean to the left, mummy turn right, u got to lean right... so poor thing... mummy cant sleep till wee hrs, duno if it is bcos u kip mummy awake, or mummy kipin u awake w the hp games.. haha..

mummy done a count last nite.. u have been w mummy for 230days ler.. time realli flies... we are reaching the finishin line soon... less than 50days, in about 7weeks time.. denson will b cuddling in mummy n daddy's arms..

but mummy has been sick these few days.. denson must hav been grasping for more oxygen, cos mummy couldnt breathe too well... hang on there, mummy will take more vitamins to get well soon k..

Dear denson,

Time flies, daddy and mummy has attended a total of 3 sessions at Mt Alvernia Hospital, the latest, involving breathing techniques and preparing for the delivery was one of the most interesting one.. with less than 2 months to your arrival, we are all very excited!

daddy has a couple more things to prepare for you but daddy has been quite slow in getting them done.. you must be a good boy and don't kick mummy when she's trying to sleep at night ok

3yrs n 4days ago, mummy n daddy is preparing for their big day at Carlton Hotel..

It was daddy's birthday too..

Mummy cant rmb what happen during the 1st yr anniversary.. haha..

2nd anniversary in yr 08, daddy brot mummy to Batam.. we had a nite stay at Batam.. Daddy was busy studyin the whole year in 08.. daddy n mummy oso tried out the all-time favourite massage in Batam..

this yr, mummy carries baby along for our celebration.. not exactly a big celebration cos daddy has been busy w work n looking after mummy.. we had our massage again.. this time a pre-natal massage for mummy, and daddy had the traditional Javanese massage.. mummy n daddy had to rush to attend antenatal class at Mount Alvernia too.. didnt cut any cake but lots of kissses n hugges for daddy..

tis yr daddy gets to celebrate his birthday w mummy's close friends.. auntie Deniece n auntie Jennifer.. they are all June babies...

Baby Denson as at 31wks 4days

Daddy n Mummy just saw Denson at Dr Michele's clinic..

Baby too big to be seen as a whole thru Dr Michele's ultrasound machine.. we managed to see denson's head from the bottom of mummy's belly.. which means baby denson has oredi turned down, and his usual movements near mummy's ribs are his buttock n legs.. from denson's measurements of his head n tummy, denson could be arriving earlier, the ultrasound machine calculated 17 Aug.. but later on mummy saw the measurement on denson's thigh bone estimate EDD to be 07 Sep.. huge difference wor... anyway Dr Michele mentioned that she will induce mummy if Denson has not shown any sign of coming out by 20 Aug..

no scan pix this time round.. cos cant see baby much ler.. as usual Dr Michele shown us Denson's heartbeat thru the machine..

The last checkup Denson was slightly underweight weighing only 900g at week 27plus... but mummy put on 9kg.. today mummy is so glad to noe that baby Denson has catch up w his weight.. he is now 1.7kg almost double the previous weighing.. and mummy has oredi put on 11.5kg.. mummy has to control on sweet stuffs especially durian, fried stuffs and unhealthy food..

Dr Michele's rough estimate of Denson's birth weight is 3.7kg.. daddy was 3.8kg.. OMG.. mummy was less than 3kg only..

Daddy's colleague, auntie Novia passed a big bag of clothes to daddy today.. alot of rompers and booties.. there is long sleeve, long pants, short sleeve and shorts too.. and oso the musical cot mobile.. mummy always wanted to get one but she has not decide which one yet cos all looks so nice..

Auntie Kate is mummy and daddy's poly classmate.. in fact groupmate.. she is one of my closest friend from poly..

Auntie Kate got a nappy kit for baby Denson.. it is for travel use.. mummy can laid the nappy kit on any surface and let baby Denson lie down to change nappy.. useful especially mummy n daddy gonna bring Denson to taiwan in March.. can use till Denson is 2,3 yrs old oso.. Just hope baby Denson can be good boi n lie down for mummy to change ur nappy..

Somehow the aircon in toa payoh seems to be lacking.. even the Kiddy Palace air-conditioning was severely lacking.. but oh well, we still bought things for denson:

Joshua and Janelle will be arriving in late July.. Their EDD are supposed to be few days b4 Denson.. bcos they are twins, Auntie Joanne will be very xin ku to carry them around till full term, usually twins will pop sooner than usual oso...

waiting to see Kor Kor Joshua and Jie Jie Janelle in August then~

Mummy planned to rest by 01 Aug.. Mummy got some annual leave to clear from last yr.. so will take a rest earlier, hoping Denson will arrives in Mummy and Daddy's arms sooner than expected..

then it will be less than 71 days to go..

Mummy did an estimate, she will have about 33 working days before she starts her rest..

Mummy suddenly feels so heavy this morning.. Mummy's tummy was so tight this morning as mummy had to attend a discussion/meeting standing for 30mins.. mummy was almost using her 1 hand to hold on to Denson while she toks...

Was reading so much in the forum lately.. Some aunties who are supposed to pop in July has start popping in June.. wow... Got 1 auntie say once 1 start to pop, the rest will pop like popcorn.. so funies..

No more aircon..

Initially was Yang 小叔 who proposed the idea of installing aircon for all the 3 rooms in the house.. he proposed for a 50-50 sharing for Mummy and Daddy's room but now he backed out ler.. First he worried about how to save $500 to co-share the aircon, now he say he is still young no money to contribute..

well, mummy's point if she n daddy have to pay $1000 for the aircon and contribute more for the utilities bill (as Grandma's main worry for installing aircon, and Yang 小叔 highlighted to Daddy and Mummy oso).

Mummy tinks not worthwhile the spending when Mummy n Daddy will at most be using the aircon for half a yr and we gonna hav our own aircons.. system 4, even the living room will be installed w aircon..

Grandpa strongly highlighted Mummy canot use aircon during her confinement, then 1 mth is out.. then wat's the point man..!!

Yang 小叔 will be the main person who gained from the whole proposal..

so NO WAY.. Mummy will bear w the hot weather n continue w her 3 fans..

Even if we installed the aircon, contribute additional for utilities, when Daddy, Mummy and Denson move out, is Daddy and Mummy still expected to maintain the contribution...???

Mummy rather save the aircon money and the additional contribution to buy more things for Denson..

Busy 06/06

What a busy 6 June.. daddy and mummy went over to Yee-po's place on saturday to wait for the Philips TV delivery... daddy was told that the TV will reach between 2pm-4pm but there was some problem and the person called and told daddy that it will be between 5pm-6pm.. grandma and uncle yang went for a swim and steambath while daddy and mummy stayed upstairs to help Yee-po to figure out her sound system..

then daddy went out with yee-po to get katong laska for everyone, daddy bought nasi lemak for uncle yang, but somehow, daddy managed to lose the nasi lemak without knowing when.. daddy must be more careful next time..

and so, the TV finally arrived at 5.30pm is now safely stored at yee-poh's place.. daddy was relieved that yee-poh agreed to lend her place to store the TV, next time daddy, mummy and denson will have 42inch LCD TV to watch ok?

yee-poh commented that daddy was too nice to the delivery people.. that's why they delay the delivery and take daddy for granted.. daddy feels that its no point getting angry and all he wants is to settle the thing, no point scolding the delivery people if it doesn't help things, only more people will be upset.. so why not just keep everyone happy and lower expectations.. but dadddy is sorry was wasting everyone time to wait for the delivery..

in the evening, yee-po was so kind to drive daddy and mummy to Expo for the motherhood fair.. daddy and mummy is ready to sign up for Cordlife for baby! the unexpected thing was how daddy and mummy agreed to be interviewed for the Cordlife Corporate video.. it was quite an experience!

Yee-po, grandma and uncle yang also went to the John Little Sale.. they bought alot of tibits etc.. we had dinner at Lerk Thai, daddy and uncle yang played 1 round of scissors, paper, stone and uncle yang lost, so he had to drink one spoonful of tom yam soup.. but after awhile, both daddy and uncle yang was drinking on their own will..

finally, yee-po sent all of us back home, it was an fulfilling evening as the TV is now settled and daddy and mummy now got more stuff for Baby Denson!

Mummy finally got the pillowcase for Denson's beanie.. but this wasnt the color Mummy wanted actually.. well, but it looks nice oso lar.. Little Prince Charming Denson Ho...

Denson is so active yesterday when Mummy is working.. tink he didnt have a good sleep the nite b4 where Mummy kip waking up in the nite bcos of the heat wave.. Mummy weeped weeped cos the weather is so hot n stale that her body is just burning or rather boiling ler.. Mummy NEEDs the aircon~~ Daddy pls try ur best to convince Gong Gong for the aircon.. otherwise Denson will be v hot oso.. Canot wait till Mummy go into delivery then install, by then it will hav alot of dusts when Denson comes back.. nobodi will clean up the room too...

No more space for Daddy's lappie in the room.. got to use the boxes by side to double up as table top..

It is June now, Denson... Another 2 months, mummy gonna go on leave n rest rest at home.. Hopefully by then, the weather will b cooler... Grandpa forbid us to install e aircon durin this period bcos of pantang.. he say the earliest will be when mummy is delivering Denson in the hospital then can ask ppl to install the aircon at home.. Mummy n Daddy wun wan the aircon by then, they wan their own hse.. We will hav our own set of airconsss... haha... save money..

Mummy tinking of going to Singapore Expo again for the Motherhood Exhibition.. supposedly biggest parenting extravaganza in town! Hope it will not be as disappointing as the previous, daddy n mummy went all the way for...

Mummy ordered a pillowcase for Baby Denson's beanie pillow.. yet to be collected.. it spelled Denson's name on the pillowcase w an iron-on Prince Charming tag.. Mummy still waitin for the call from the shop..

so many sales since last friday.. Mummy bot a few maternity tops for office n casual wears... haven pick up much offers for Baby Denson.. Mummy duno what to buy ler.. Mummy knows Denson still short of some stuffs, but she duno if anyone is going to give hands-down to Baby Denson so she didnt wan to spend on it yet.. Taka got sale.. additional 10% for card members, mummy got her card ready..

oh ya, Auntie Pauline just gave mummy a Cordlife $150 voucher.. Mummy n Daddy haven sign up for Baby oso.. maybe can do so at the Motherhood Fair..

It has been so long since Baby Denson is incubating in mummy's tummy.. Mummy saw the desktop pix that Daddy pieced up w Denson's scan.. Mummy is so amazed at how Denson has grown throughout the months.. it has been half a yr since mummy has u in her.. from the little Comma Ho to Cashew Ho to we finally confirmed your name Denson Ho.. Mummy was tellin Daddy yesterday, mummy love Cashew's pix so much.. that's when we saw u settling so nicely n comfortably inside mummy..

as to-date, there is another 80 days to Baby Denson's arrival... Mummy need to make use of this time to clear the room n set up the baby's corner.. 19 days to mummy n daddy's 3rd wedding anniversary... it is Daddy's birthday too...

Mummy told Daddy, from next yr onwards, no more bday present for Daddy cos mummy has transferred all Daddy's gifts to Denson.. :)

22 May Scan

Mummy has talked about her worries regarding Denson's weigh.. daddy is quietly aware of mummy's concern but hasn't really spoken to her about it.. you see, daddy is busy with work for the last few weeks all thanks to the Great Singapore Sale.. so daddy was also unable to join mummy for dinner..

daddy will make it a point to leave office around 7pm so that dinner arrangements can be made with mummy.. on top of that, daddy also agree that perhaps the lack of rest last week could have affected denson.. daddy and mummy was looking around for TV and sound systems so that we could make an informed decision during the philips sale!

daddy finally had time to upload the picture, daddy is trying not to be lazy and gathering whatever left over energy from the day's work to better use.. daddy need to sleep more and have good rest too

Little Denson Update

Last friday, Mummy and Daddy brot Denson for the monthly checkup..

Mummy has been seeing the aunties on the forum saying that their little joys is weighing between 1kg to 1.6kg at week 27 to week 30..

Baby Denson is in week 27 Day 1 as of last friday.. Mummy has already put on 9kg so far.. the past month Mummy has been asking for food b4 she sleep.. mayb tat's y the sudden 2kg plus weigh gain.. sob sob.. but Baby Denson is only weighing 900g...

Mummy is having mixed feeling about Denson's weight.. on a high side, baby Denson's weight is kept under control which Mummy is expecting Denson to put on more weight in the next few mths ahead.. Baby Denson wun be too big or heavy for natural delivery oso... so Mummy felt relieved about it.. On the low side, Mummy felt that Baby Denson is abit underweight compared to little friends on the forum.. Mummy wonder if it is the food that she is eattin that is affecting Baby Denson's growth.. maybe too unhealthy... Mummy has been having instant noodles in e nite when she is hungry.. Mummy has no craving oso.. instant noodles is too unhealthy ler... a few treats on fried food oso.. maybe Mummy has not been resting enough that Baby has got enough time to absorb nutrients from Mummy and grow steadily??

Mummy hope that Denson can continue to keep up the growth...

Anyway Dr Michele oso reassured Mummy that usually Baby will pick up the weight growth from week 28 onwards.. that's y doctors only do weight measurement after the week 28..

Mummy will make a point to eat healthily now n reduce the intake of instant noodles for the little precious Denson's sake...

Finally Denson’s beanie pillow is done!!

Credit to the following people to the success of Denson’s beanie:

外婆 –外婆 took a big bag of beansprout husks from the market auntie. She took twice bcos the 1st time Mummy didn’t take from her in time and the beansprout husks grow mouldy. Lucky 外婆 didn’t scold Mummy for the delay resulting the fungus and she still willingly ask from the market auntie for another bag.

鹏舅舅 – Mummy wasn’t able to take from 外婆 in the early morning, hence 鹏舅舅 sent it over to Mummy w his bike.. if not for 鹏舅舅, maybe this bag will grow mouldy too.

Mummy – Mummy was the main person to pick the beansprout husks, wash it and kept it nicely.. Mummy oso measure and cut the size of the cloth for the pillow.. too bad Mummy duno how to use the sewing machine, otherwise Mummy will sew for Denson.. Daddy duno how to use sewing machine oso.. haha..

Daddy – Daddy did the most job!! Daddy oso picked the beansprout husks, he sun it n make sure everything was dry n crispy under the hot sun.. Daddy tried learning the sewing machine but not able to master it within a day.. But Daddy sew the last part after Daddy n Mummy put the beansprout husks into the pillowcase. See Daddy at work..

Daddy patiently hand-sew Denson's beanie.. 公公 n Daddy disallowed Mummy to use needle n thread.. haiz.. so pantang..

婆婆 –婆婆 got help in the picking too. Though her eyes weren’t as good as before bcos of her new specs, but she did offer to help too.

公公 –公公 got help a little in the picking but the main credit is he brot Mummy’s cut cloth to his tailor friend to sew.. so the beanie pillow is actually professionally made..

Jason大伯 – Erm.. Jason大伯 oso helped alittle in the picking..

杨小叔 - 杨小叔 was very enthu initially in the picking.. after he tried the picking for 10mins, he surrendered.. thanks 杨小叔 anyway..

Don't know if its daddy that's becoming paranoid.. after logging into msn today in office after rushing some artwork.. daddy didn't see mummy online.. daddy became abit worried about mummy and sent her an sms.. when mummy didn't reply.. daddy got more worried.. and daddy called mummy but mummy didn't pick up.. daddy tried to recall if mummy mentioned about any meeting, shift of store or training that will leave mummy without handphone.. haha

then daddy also thought that mummy could have left her handphone at home, so daddy called mummy's office direct line.. no answer.. then daddy even went to the extend of emailing mummy to ask "everything ok?"

when mummy finally replied the sms at 11.14am "i'm in trainin.. Y leh.." daddy was so relieved.. that was followed by mummy accidentally calling daddy on the phone and dad could hear mummy speaking about her work through the phone..

when mummy finally called back again some seconds later.. daddy told her that daddy was worried cause daddy haven't heard from her since the morning..

since last friday, Baby has been very very active.. moving n moving...

as mummy typing, baby Denson is moving ard again..

mummy was tinkin usually preggies get leg cramps very often, but how come mummy dont seem to get that.. n true enuff.. only bad things come true fast...

On sat wee hours, mummy got leg cramps consecutively in both her calf..

this morning, mummy was screaming for daddy's help again.. her left calf...

As baby gets bigger, the cramps will b more frequent.. actually mummy has been sitting crossed legs during office time otherwise at home oso... shld b avoiding that cos it prevents blood flow and that causes the cramps too..

another way to prevent cramps is to get daddy to massage mummy's calf every nite b4 she sleep.. but daddy is tired every nite...

last nite, mummy literally could feel Baby moving inside whenever she shifts herself in bed.. baby simply tot mummy toss, he got to toss too.. must b so uncomfortable when the weather isnt helping too.. Baby wants cool cool wind..

Ytd mummy n daddy met up w Auntie who will b doing confinement for mummy and look after u during the 1st mth... looks pleasant, just tat she speaks more of cantonese, hopefully grandpa can help to understand and translate for us...

she says she cooks more of Cantonese/Hakka food.. daddy so happy when auntie say she knows how to cook hakka food.. he misses them..

if mummy can picks up from auntie during the 1st mth, then Baby n daddy gets to eat Hakka food in future...

Into Trimester 3

Ooo... mummy just realised baby is into trimester 3..

Some info about week 27..

Your baby is now 37cm long and weighs around 2lb. As you enter your third (and final!) trimester, your baby will start to receive immunity to infection from the antibodies that cross through the placenta. This immunity will be boosted by breastfeeding and lasts until your baby is a few months old.

Whole afternoon mummy felt baby moving alot.. mummy was trying my luck to see if i can feel a hand or a feet.. stroking abit harded on the tummy and then i felt something shrink back.. i tink that was Denson's little hand..

And so.. daddy has been lazy to get the 23 Apr scan up.. it's already may and daddy have yet to get the scan up.. here we go

as we can see, baby denson is getting bigger now.. that being said.. it means that the scan image will show less and less of denson as we go along.. with 101 days (or less) to go, its time to be more prepared for denson's arrival.. daddy and mummy is attending Mt Alvernia's antenatal course from 12 june onwards... that means we are also most likely to have denson delivered at Mt Alvernia

Expected Due Date

Mummy has a forum friend whom expected due date supposedly same as Baby Denson on the 20.08.2009, but she updated last week that during her checkup, the system updated via her baby's growth that the expected due date will be 07.08.2009 instead..

wow~ As at to-date, mummy n daddy is expecting Baby Denson's arrival in another 101days.. if there is an update, Baby Denson probably be out in less than 100days...

so many aunties n uncles are so excited over Baby Denson's arrival, certainly mummy n daddy do too...

Mummy had a pix taken w Denson some weeks ago, but daddy lazy to put up, so till now still in the camera.. haha..

May Update

This update is specially for those of you with have visit this blog over and again to check for updates, thanks for sharing the excitement and anticipation, as of today, we are some 106days away from denson's arrival..

on the home front, denson has been more than active, especially in the late evenings when mummy is resting on the bed and watching tv

we are still anxiously waiting for our flat to be ready and we can't wait to start a new beginning in punggol..with renovation plans and certain furniture more or less decided.. we can't wait to move and while the financial front could be challenging.. we are more or less prepared for the road ahead.. once the keys belong to us, its a lifetime of debt thanks to HDB, renovation and even furniture.. but we can't hide the excitement of moving into a place we call our own, to share our life with our little miracle..

well.. if all these text is making you bored, do you know that people make use of bean sprout husk to make pillows for babies? BEAN SPROUT HUSK. Yes, you are not reading it wrongly.. so, the effort taken for the husk to travel from the market into the home, through the QC selection, washing and sunning and washing and sunning was quite an experience.. still, it seems like we have gathered enough for only 1 pillow..

if you are still wondering if i'm kidding, i kid you not.. you folks will understand when you are expecting a kid of your own and when the time comes, feel free to ask questions ;)

Sunday Cleaning

Dear Denson,

As the day towards your arrival creeps nearer, daddy and mummy made some effort to clean up the room for you although it should be a short few months that you are staying in grandparent's place in serangoon..

mummy tidied up the bags in the room and also threw away some that she didn't need, daddy packed the area nicely and cleaned up the dressing table too, now, its almost dust free although there's more to be done..

a final vaccum before mopping the area, a clean room feels great, but it comes at the expense of hard work of cleaning up!

Daddy and mummy bought you a temporary "cabinet" for your clothes this morning.. its those plastic drawers type to put clothes and we got a toyogo 4-drawer one for you! when you move into our punggol flat with us, you will have your own big size full length wardrobe in your room although you are too young to fill it up, daddy and mummy will make one for you, daddy is thinking about your room decor and furniture

daddy just finished working on some of his office stuff in preparation for the 4-day week ahead, there's a first "big event" that daddy is planning and managing now that daddy is 2 months in my job..daddy been working hard the whole of last week and had to work beyond 9pm for 3 evenings, meaning mummy was just alone with you.. daddy will try to make it home earlier this week ok? meanwhile, you must be a good boy and accompany mummy, don't kick too hard!

Daddy finally felt little one..

Ytd was our appt w Dr Michelle.

Daddy n Mummy purposely took the day off to rest and to see Denson too.. Mummy realised when Denson is hungry, he will kick n move ard more.. so daddy say gonna starve Denson on thursday morning so that Denson will move around during the scan.. so bad daddy..

In the morning when we wake up, mummy oredi felt Denson moving ard.. quiet morning, no tv sound, mummy tot will b a good time daddy try again to feel u.. so daddy placed his hand on mummy's belly.. after a while, Denson moved... Daddy immediately turn and look at mummy.. and mummy nodded to confirm what daddy has felt..

Daddy was so excited.. he continued to feel, but i tink he lost the concentration to the excitement.. anyway, mummy didnt wan Denson to starve for too long.. so the short session for daddy.. Mummy needs breakfast and off we went to see Dr Michele..

Rmb Denson had his detailed scan on 04 Apr.. that's when the gynae confirm double chop that Denson is a baby boi... Denson was 320g at e point of scanning... yesterday daddy n mummy got the result for the detailed scan.. Dr Michele mentioned everything is fine.. Lip, nose, hands, legs, kidney, heart chambers, lungs, gential organs, bones and skin is noticed in the scan.. measurements of Denson was noted oso, but mummy duno how to read.. haha.. anyway mummy got back all the scan pix from Dr Michele.. tonite mummy go see n analyse again..

Mummy experienced the first BB hiccups in the afternoon during her meeting.. OMG..

BB going to holiday in Mar next yr!!

Guess BB was upset initially when mummy was prepared to leave him behind to go for her taiwan trip w daddy and the uncles, aunties.. (Uncle Leong, BB Denson is clever boi.. he will noe is uncle or kor kor loh)

When mummy was eatting her lunch, BB Denson just refused to stop moving ard inside.. Mummy had a hard time finishin her food..

Came back for meetin n BB Denson start having hiccups during the meeting.. he must be so upset that Mummy n Daddy gonna leave him behind.. Actually Daddy didnt bear to leave him behind.. His MSN nick, to bring or not to bring, make mummy so guilty.. and BB kip protesting w the hiccups... so mummy decided we gonna bring BB Denson along for his FIRST HOLIDAY!!

Once Mummy finish changing the flight seat for a wider legroom seats so tat mummy n daddy can accomodate BB for a more comfortable flight, BB simply stop the protest..

BB Long Weekend

Last friday was a public holiday, so mummy n daddy had a BBQ n a nite stay at Downtown East chalet..

BB Denson seen the uncles n aunties before during the Xmas countdown.. so BB nt strange to them at all..

BB Denson must have a great time luffing and chatting w the aunties n uncles.. The uncles (Uncle Yoke Meng, Uncle Leong, Uncle Weiqiang) and Daddy were doing the BBQ-ing for the nite.. Uncle Yoke Meng is the main chef, he bot the food, started the fire, bbq the food and wash the stuffs...

Uncle Yoke Meng scared mummy will fall down when the floor is wet, so he didnt ask mummy to buy alot of things..

All the uncles n aunties make fun of BB Denson, say BB Denson will being luck.. they saw 4-digit on 4 fishballs, so everyone bot the numbers the next day..

BB Denson must be stressed n scared.. Dont worry bb k.. mummy protect u...

Few sets of numbers, but they didnt come out the exact formation.. Sat was close, sunday was even closer... haha.. but Daddy bot his own number, n he won again.. Oopss! Sorry all uncles n aunties, BB Denson supposed to bring luck to Daddy only.. v v small luck, but better than nothing.. Daddy didnt even realised, it was grandma who noticed the number.

Anyway BB Denson had a great time w Mummy's friends.. we ate, luff n chat till 12midnite.. BB Denson must hav felt so tired.. We all turn in at 1plus am.. mummy n BB Denson heard symphony in the nite, couldnt sleep well cos the uncles were too noisy.. they didnt practise their tune so they took turns thru'out...

Mummy n Daddy brot BB Denson to movie for the 3rd time.. Funnie movie, everyone was luffing thru'out the show... After the movie, Daddy played bowling w Uncles n Auntie Jenn.. Too bad, mummy couldnt play.. next time BB Denson shall play together k.. mummy buy u a personal bowling ball..

Just as mummy tinkin n pondering how come BB Denson hasnt been moving n kicking hard in mummy's tummy, Mummy felt a few movement on Saturday's nite.. at 11 Apr, 9.58pm where BB Denson is 21weeks n 2 days old, mummy felt BB Denson a few times in a row.. but mummy didnt shout for Daddy to feel, cos the feeling is exclusive to Mummy.. Daddy wun b able to feel fr the outside.. Maybe BB Denson noe mummy gonna hav durian soon, so he wants to tell Mummy to faster eat so that he can has his first trial on durian...

As mummy goes along on sunday nite, BB Denson start movin again.. Before dinner.. when mummy is lying down and even mummy is sitting n squeezing BB's space.. Maybe BB is trying to move ard to get more space..

As mummy types, BB Denson moves a few times.. haha.. Mummy simply loves u...

Dont kick mummy too hard k, especially when mummy is working.. mummy needs to concentrate at work... U must hav been playin w mummy's belly button, mummy see her belly button more protuding day by day ler.. dont push too out k, otherwise so ugly... mummy will clean clean belly button so that the water dun go in n disturb u..

Mummy oredi told daddy next time we will hav a bathtub at home, then we can let BB Denson soak soak water in the bathtub.. an environment u so used to in mummy's tummy..

Detailed Scan on 04 April

Dear Denson,

Some 20 weeks into the pregnancy, gynae auntie scheduled you and mummy for a detailed scan on 04 April at Thomson Medical Centre. The purpose of such a scan is to do measurements such as your bone length, skull circumference etc...

So daddy and mummy was in the area on saturday for the scan. We were brought into a dimly lit aircon room where mummy took your place for the scan to begin. The difference between this place and the clinic is that the facilities here does not cater a specific screen for mummy to view. The lady that was doing the scan had to turn your monitor in order for mummy to see the screen..

In the first few minutes, you were not very cooperative so we couldn't see much, as the scan went on, you turned more and daddy was able to get a better view of you.. the scan took quite awhile so m

ummy closed her eyes to rest while the lady continued to do her job..

We confirmed your gender again when we were showed your scotrum and penis.. don't worry k, its a black and white image and the rest of the uncle and aunties that read this blog probably won't know how to make out the image.. haha!

We also managed to capture a nice side-profile of you with your little hand up your hand. Daddy also witness how the lady zoom in and took a snap of your heart chambers!

Here are the pictures, more to come when the Doctor has reviewed them, the scans will be returned to daddy and mummy!

So i guess plans are more concrete now. Baby, we will get a confinement lady to take care of you and mummy in the first month to make sure that everything is ok while daddy need to work while taking some leave to spend more time with mummy and you..

after mummy finish her 3mths maternity leave, mummy will return to work while we place you with a babysitter okie? Daddy and mummy will find a few options to make sure that you are well taken care of while Daddy and Mummy work on to build a better life for you

Our flat should be coming in the 3rd or 4th quarter this year, daddy and mummy have already reserved a room for you, we will decide on the decoration and room layout later, but we have already seen some designs and ideas that we like

meanwhile, mummy is down with a very bad backache, so you take care and also don't disturb mummy tummy too much alright?

Daddy n Mummy just seem to cant agree on how we gonna arrange you after mummy goes back to work..

Mummy decided not to place the playpen in por por's hse, cos we may not come up tat often oso.. mummy wun hav a room in future to nuan and she has to sit at the itchy sofa.. the tot of sitting down send lots n lots of itch to mummy right now..

Wen we come back, it will b only for a while, so no nid for playpen anyway.. por por wun cook anyway, we wun b eatting at home for sure..

so we can have the playpen and bb cot in our new hse..

depends who u will taken care by, then mayb bring the playpen over for u to use in the daytime..
mummy was so happy finally she hears that ur yi-po wanna take care of u if she gets retrench yr-end.. but mummy hesitant awhile cos yi-po stay so far.. 外婆 was tellin mummy to find a nanny whose kids are grown up ler, the family must b clean clean so that BB Denson will grow up healthily.. mummy got to find out where to find e list of nannies staying in Punggol then we can visit the hse n see if the auntie is good..

mummy prefers if there is any friend's mummy who can take care of BB Denson then to send him for someone she duno.. but mummy got no friend who stay nearby Punggol...

Somehow at the BB Fair, there wasnt much things that specific to boy boy.. Mummy didnt want to get too much of clothes for you.. Duno if you would be like daddy, fat fat when you are born or slim slim bb.. buy too many small clothes later you cant fit in... anyway, mummy rather buy more things for u to play when you grow up..

Mummy tink still need to get a playpen for you when we move to our new hse.. maybe we will scout for one much later... a stroller, though at grandma's hse u have one, but mummy haven seen the condition and the design.. maybe too out-fashioned ler.. anyway you only be able to use it when u are 6mths old... so mummy got to get a bb sling/carrier for u...

my dear son, i must firstly apologies for taking such a close look and emphasising on a part that's so private to you.. at 16weeks old, interest is high where a queue of people, including your grandparents, relatives and friends are all waiting for news..

at the gynae yesterday, we saw what we thought was your genital that revealed your gender to us after some shifting and zooming from the gynae.. now now, we had to be sure don't we? So daddy and mummy has been looking at the video over and over again..

some of mummy's friend actually spotted your genital during other parts of the video.. so daddy den took a closer look and found this:

Now we are more sure than ever, but at the same time, i know it must be embarassing for you to be exposed to such public scrutiny at such a young age..

Of Baby Fair @ Expo

Visit the Baby Fair at the Singapore Expo this evening after an early dinner at Bedok.

At the current stage, things does seem to be a little early as we walked and browsed around but didn't buy anything at all.. perhaps its because we are still unsure of cashew's gender which is why we are apprehensive on what to get.. yes, there were things to be bought, but at the same time, somethings seemed a little too early to get while we didn't want to continue buying baby wear that are non-gender-specific colours, like white, green and yellow..

With more people knowing about cashew, the most usual questions that we have this week were whether we know the gender yet.. we have already explained to those that asked and i have spoken about this issue in early postings too.. so that's about that..

a scan is scheduled in the later part of next week, till then people, keep your updated by visiting the blog and feel free to drop your comments on the chatbox..

Mummy got headaches...

Mummy been having headaches for the past few days.. maybe is due to lack of sleep, but mummy no longer feels as tired as the 1st trimester ler..

next thur we are goin to see Cashew again.. Hopefully cashew is gonna tell mummy its gender so that mummy can buy more nice nice clothes for you..

A few more of mummy's friends just got to know about Cashew too.. Saying Hello to Uncle Joke & Auntie Florence..

After Cashew is born, Cashew would be able to attend Uncle Yoke n Auntie Jenn's wedding in Oct.. Wait till Cashew is older, maybe he/she will be daddy n mummy's friends favourites for the little ring boi and little flower gal...

Mummy was tokin to Uncle Jake just now.. he was saying Auntie Joanne oso like to eat spicy food.. but Auntie Joanne doesnt have the breakouts Mummy is having.. Mummy has alot of breakouts for almost a month on her chest area and it seem to worsen now, spreading to her neck.. hoping it doesnt spread to the face, mummy still need to work to buy more clothes n toys for Cashew..

Mummy kips complaining about her ample cushion ard Cashew.. and worried if Cashew has enuff space to grow in her.. haha.. the more mummy eats, the more cushion it grows instead of seeing Cashew grows leh... shall see how much Cashew has grown in Dr Michele's scan next week...

Daddy refrained from telling everyone at the Modesto's dinner because there didn't seem to be a good opportunity to tell the folks, later on, at the drinks session at Queen's and Mangostees, daddy finally told Uncle Brian, Uncle Yihan, Auntie Chew Yan and later showed Auntie Wenya the scan, where Uncle Chongwei guessed rightly that it's a picture of cashew..haha

The other uncle and aunties at the drinks session was Gary, JieYing and new Helena ;)

Later on, auntie Joy and Meesh(together with Auntie Sacha and auntie Dana) also knew about cashew via MSN

Guess more people will know in the coming days, haha.. Uncle Tim has already dropped daddy a msn message when daddy wasnt at the computer!

Cashew's gender could be revealed as early as the next scan in March, but sometimes, the wait will be till the 5th month.. it really depends on cashew's position during the scan and if cashew will be too shy to show us

let's see, meanwhile, be patient!

Tonight, Daddy is meeting EY friends and will be making an annoucement to the folks about Cashew

Earlier this morning, daddy went to AMK ave10 to tapau a very nice Nasi Lemak for mummy, cashew and the rest of the family..

by late morning, Daddy and Mummy has travel to the industrial area off Upper Thomson to visit a baby items sale at Tagore lane!

While looking through all the things that could be bought for cashew, daddy and mummy was careful not to overbuy just because its a sale, we kept our purchases reasonable, and in total, bought 10 items for cashew!

As daddy and mummy don't know cashew's gender yet, most of the items were bought in white, greenish or yellowish colours, haha..

Auntie Mel will giving u Mirabel's milk bottle steriliser and if Cashew is a gal gal, then there will be beautiful clothes from Mirabel too.. Cashew at 13 weeks

Cashew:

Baby's vocal cords have begun to develop.

More and more of the organs are functioning every day. The liver has begun to secrete bile and the pancreas to produce insulin.

All twenty baby teeth are formed and waiting beneath his gums until well after birth. However, every once in a while a baby is born with teeth already showing.

The baby's bone marrow, liver and spleen have taken over the production of red blood cells.

Although the baby's intestines were originally formed inside the umbilical cord, they are now moving into the abdomen.

Fuzzy hair is beginning to form on your little one's head. Regardless of what color that hair will eventually be, it is white (unpigmented) right now.

13weeks and counting!

Our dear cashew is officially 13weeks today and that marks the beginning of the 2nd trimester!

That means that this is also the beginning of a time where we will start telling more people about the good news.

This morning, daddy also saw a small bump at mummy's tummy and its cashew that's inside, daddy will start talking more to cashew also, and when cashew hearing develops better, daddy will start reading stories to cashew too

meanwhile, hope that cashew will help mummy and don't kick kick or pull mummy, stay healthy alright

12 weeks old and counting

With just 7 days to go to the end of 12th weeks, Comma is now more like a Cashew, so we have decided to drop the name comma and move on to Cashew now..

Cashew is officially 5.7cm tall now but cashew is all curled up for the moment. As per the scan done, cashew is also in an upright position, ie cashew's head is at the top of mummy's womb

It has been a quick 12 weeks and 0 days but mummy told daddy that the first trimester is only considering over after the 12 weeks, which means that it'll be at least a week before Daddy let even more people know =)

daddy and mummy has also started looking at baby cots, play pens, infant wear and sorts.. august is still sometime away but its good to be prepared..

Mummy is going to start on multivitamins for herself and cashew too, daddy hope both mummy and cashew will be healthy and happy!

Alright, its time for the picture scan.. its funny how some people can't really make out what they can seeing while others can spot specific points without any as

sistance, at 12 weeks old, Cashew's gender is yet to be confirmed so hold your horses and be patient please.. cashew will reveal it all to us around the 5th month
